I was delighted to be part of the Secret 7″ exhibition in 2018. Secret 7″ takes seven tracks from seven well-known musicians and presses each one 100 times to 7” vinyl. Creatives from around the world are invited to interpret the music in their own style, and the sleeves are then exhibited before going on sale to raise money for charity. 2018 saw many high-profile artists take part such as Anish Kapoor, Thierry Noir and Matt Sewell, plus one of my favourite illustrators, Jean Jullien. The exhibition took place from 8th to 24th June at The Jetty on Greenwich Peninsula, London. I visited a couple of times and there was so much to see! I hope Secret 7″ takes place again in 2019 for the opportunity to be part of this wonderful event. My contribution was for Primal Scream’s Damaged. I created the abstract image using acrylic paint on canvas. I simply listened to the track, painting what I felt. From the sale, over £37,000 was raised for Mind charity! I feel so lucky in my life to know such talented designers and to have opportunities like this.
